Eureka Self-Propelled 5048A
I bought this new in 1989.I was working a 2nd job for a cleaning service at the time, vacuuming model homes and some offices. I’d worn out a couple of Hoover Concept Ones and a Decade 80 by this point, so I decided to try Eureka.
Man was I ever disappointed!!!
The self-propel is wimpy at best, and the handle counterweight spring is so heavy that it actually pulls the nozzle off the floor as the bag gets about 1/2 full.
I may have used the cleaner twice for cleaning models, then went back to my Sanitaire.
Not long after my newly divorced sister wanted a vacuum, and I gave this to her. She used it up til maybe 2005, when after breaking 3 belts in a row , she replaced this Eureka with a Bissell Lift-Off…(Insert blood curdling scream here) So the Eureka was given back to me. Here it is, probably the 3rd time its been run since my sister gave it back to me…
