I want to buy a vacuum cleaner, buy I’m not going for broke… please suggest a vacuum that is less than $150

No Dysons… I’m more of a Eureka or a Bissell, maybe a Hoover person…
My last three were Hoovers, but I want better.
I know mine current model is like 20 years old and things have changed.
I need to get up dog hair.

What can you suggest???

Go to Walmart and buy Eureka The Boss 12 amp power bagless system. It is on sale for $44.00 . I think you will like it .

Good Luck

I love my Bissell bagless! I had two Hoovers before and they apparently weren’t doing the job very well. I got so much "stuff" out of my carpets with the Bissell Cyclonic sweeper I got that I was just about horrified! Check around but I got mine at WalMart. It’s not the top of the line Bissell but it’s not the cheapie one either.

If you’re currently using a 20 year old Hoover then you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the new models. You should be able to pick up something that will do the job for you in the $150 or maybe slightly above, neighborhood. However, don’t listen to all the hype you hear about the bagless cleaners, when you dump them out you still have to deal with the dust rolling around in the air. Consumer Reports lists the top three best cleaning uprights as being bagged, not bagless. The bags are, in effect, the major filtering element in the cleaner. When you have a bagged cleaner and the bag gets full, you change it and you have a new filter again. When you dump a bagless cleaner’s dirt bin, most people completely forget about all the fitlers it takes to make up for the bag and don’t clean any of them. Consequently, they overload, plug up and deprive the motor of air, which can cut down suction and burn out the motor. If you’re looking for something a little better than the Hoovers and Bissells, and Eureakas, then look at some Panasonics, Sharps, Sanyos, Riccars. They are all very good vac’s and really quiet. However, you’ll only find them at vacuum sales and repair shops, not in Wal-Mart or Meijer, or K-Mart.
