Bissell Style 10 Filter Kit

This is the genuine Bissell Style 10 Filter Kit for bagless upright vacuum cleaners. This kit includes all 4 of the filters found on both the PowerForce (Power Force), and CleanView (Clean View) II Series Bagless Models.

Kit includes the following filters inside:
(1) Bissell Foam Circular Outer Filter, Part Number 203-1192
(1) Bissell Inner Pleated HEPA Filter Cartridge, Part 203-1183
(1) Bissell Pre-Motor Secondary Foam Filter, Part 203-1295
(1) Bissell Post Motor Filter Assembly, Part 203-1009, or 32066.

It’s recommended that these filters be replaced once every year to ensure maximum life expectancy. The more often these filters are replaced, the longer your vacuum cleaner will run problem free.

New Vacuum: Bissell Plus

Another unexpected addition to the collection. Most of the time, unless I am buying a vacuum, they are unexpected finds. i.e, when trash picking, some times I find one or more, other times I don’t find anything. But this certainly wins for most interesting way I’ve ever gotten a vacuum. I’ve pulled 2 vacs from his dumpster before, and he gave me a broken one, but never a working vac. Now I have to figure out where to put it!!

New Vacuum: Bissell CleanView Revolution Plus

After months of light browsing, I finally found a curbside vacuum. I usually pick up 30-40 curbside vacs a year, and this year I think I found less than when I started. In fact, I think I’ve bought more vacs this year than I’ve found. Despite all the Bissells I have, this vac only makes the second widepath one. If I (absolutely) had to pick one of them, I’d say the Cleanview is 5x better than my powerforce bagless. In the end, I think Bissell makes the ugliest, cheapest, and shortest lasting vacuums even if you try to maintain them. I do give Bissell one credit; they are the only company that has an extensive ‘library” on most of their machines from 1990 and up. Everyone else has done away with manual downloads and parts lists for older machines. Also interesting is even with Bissell’s extensive site, nowhere did I find a revolution plus, just a revolution deluxe, which seemed to be the same thing.

Miele S5 Callisto vs. Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuums

In continuation of the GoVacuum video series, we have created a video review of two vacuum cleaners. We put to the test the Miele Callisto S5280 and the Kenmore Canister Vacuum.

Our decision to put these two vacuums head to head stems from the Consumer Reports magazine. For years, the Consumer Reports magazine has rated the Kenmore Canister number one. The Miele has been ranked at 5 or 6.

Having many, many years of industry experience, the Consumer Reports ranking has left us baffled because the Miele Callisto is one of our best canisters because of its high quality, unbeatable performance and long life.

In order to compare the vacuums, we are performing three tests with the machines. First, the machines’ filtration systems are being tested with the use of a laser particle scanner which calculates the number of particles being emitted from the exhaust filter on the canisters.

Second, the machines are tested on their ability to side clean, meaning how well the machines’ power heads can clean when against a wall or any other surface.

Lastly, the machines are tested on their maneuverability. One of the things that people complain most about when considering canisters is how difficult they are to maneuver, especially when you have the feeling that you are dragging a dead weight behind you.

All in all, the Miele Callisto definitely came out on top as the winner. But you will have to check out the video to see the results yourself.

Dirt Devil Featherlite Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

We found that this vacuum is very light easy to maneuver on bare floors and carpets. While the Featherlite’s ability to clean carpet was impressive for such an economical vacuum, we do not recommend using it on hard surface flooring. We actually had to get a broom out to clean up the mess this vacuum left behind after attempting to clean up various sized particles from wood floors.
The vacuum comes with three on-board attachments including a crevice tool, a brush tool and an extension wand. All of the attachments are store in the tool caddy on the back of the vacuum for easy access while cleaning.
The Dirt Devil Featherlite uses a paper bag as its dirt collection and also its main filter. You can purchase MicroFresh bags for this vacuum which claim to capture up to 99% of dust and allergens. The bag was easy and very clean to change. Additionally, the vacuum has a dirt pad that filters the exhaust. This pad can be shaken out and reused. We found that some particles are released into the air while the vacuum is on which should be considered by someone suffering from allergies.
The vacuum has a water lift of 60. Water lift is the measurement used to measure the suction strength of vacuums. We are told the average vacuum’s water lift is 70 meaning the Featherlite is a little below average.
Overall, the Dirt Devil Featherlite is a very economical vacuum costing between $50-$70 dollars. At this price, we were pleased with the vacuums ability to clean carpet and its low maintenance cost. We would recommend this vacuum to someone with basic cleaning needs who needs a machine to clean their carpet. This vacuum is also a good bet for someone who is not ready to make an investment in a vacuum and needs something inexpensive.
