I LOVE this vacuum! The vacuum before this one, which is in the shop again was an expensive Bissell which was a giant waste of money. It doesn’t have nearly the power this one seems to have. I thought I had clean floors until I ran this the first time. For someone that cleans their carpet regularly and vacuums all the time, my old vacuum must have been a bigger piece of garbage than I could imagine.
This Windtunnel has picked up dirt I didn’t know existed in my carpet. Not only is the power good, I love the retractable cord. That is a feature I didn’t think I’d like, and could definitely live without. Well, I have completely changed my mind there.
I haven’t had any issues with the on board tools and they stay in place in their storage much better than other vacuums I’ve owned.
The vacuum doesn’t weigh as much as others I’ve owned. I LOVE that! Its easy to move around from room to room, and if I had stairs I wouldn’t mind having to use this one. I’ve lugged some extremely heavy vacuums up stairs. This one is quite manageable.
I do like the way you dump the canister, however, if you aren’t doing it outside, or into a trash can that is empty, so you can get it down in there, it will make a mess. I only made a mess the first time, because I wasn’t ready for the bottom to flip out, the bottom flap came out and hit the edge of the trash cash and I had to sweep up a little mess.
The only thing it seems to be missing is a light. However, I must not really need one because I just noticed it today and I’ve had it for 3 weeks.
For the price, its features and its performance, I had to give it 5 stars!

Well, the reviews for any given product is always mixed: some people seem to have problems with a product and warn against buying it where others are happy and satisfied. Myself, I was puzzled. I’ve just gotten rid of my Bissell, not a bad vacuum cleaner always did a good job, but I wanted to upgrade a little. Spent half a day online reading reviews on all vacuum cleaners and still was not ready to commit. Finally I decided to switch to Hoover: either this model or the self-propelled more expensive one. Since this was available at our local Sears I went ahead and purchased it. What a difference. The lights went dim went I turned this thing on. Now that’s power, that’s a real vacuum motor. And the looks, Bissell looked simple and cheap compared to this guy. And the biggest difference, while the brush roll in a Bissell is activated by the suction power, in a Hoover there is a belt that spins the brush. Although it tends to slip off and break occasionally according to some reviewers Hoover is still Hoover and I am glad I purchased the thing. The powered hand tool is a big plus and the retractable cord is by far unsurpassed. And the best feature is the sealed removable canister. I will keep it for a while before I upgrade again. I just adore this thing.

Reviewers sum up the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum best by saying it’s a “great vacuum with great features for a great price!” It’s also a good thing for them to tell you that “it sucks.” Many people have come to their decision to purchase this Bissell vacuum after much research, finding it had the features and results they wanted. It looks very much like a Dyson vacuum “with the turbines leading into the dust container, the long extension hose for reaching up stairs,” yet it’s it’s a few hundred dollars less. For your healthy home, this Bissell also comes with a HEPA filter to purify the air as you vacuum and a bagless canister “that is very easy to empty. Those with pets find they have no pet hair problem when they use this vacuum. Not everyone was tickled with this Health Home Vacuum, though, as a few reviewers complained of a hot exhaust and that the unit broke down too often, but overall they are saying this Bissell is the “best vacuum I’ve ever owned!”
